Throw Back – Military Families Experience NASA!

May 29, 2020

In the spirit of this historic time for Space X and NASA and our Nation, Lincoln Military Housing wants to throw back to the amazing event we partnered with NASA and Navy Region Southwest on.

In July 2014, NASA’s Destination Station traveled to San Diego to give military families an opportunity to experience NASA.  Destination Station is NASA’s national awareness campaign to inform and energize the public about an orbiting laboratory 250 miles above earthy, known as the International Space Station.   Families were able to walk through an exhibit, touch a moon rock and meet representatives from NASA.

Families had the opportunity to hear Astronaut and Navy SEAL Chris Cassidy speak about his adventures in space and receive a signed autograph during the meet and greet.

Fast forward to present day, Astronaut and Navy SEAL Chris Cassidy is currently the Commander of the International Space Station.  You can follow him on Instagram at @astro_seal for all the cool things he is doing in space!
