Whether you are taking out your mom for the day or heading out with the kiddos, San Diego has a host of Mother's Day events planned for all the amazing mom's out there.
Each spring, the flower fields open up to the public as the 50 acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers open up in full bloom. On the last day of their season, the flower fields are conducting a special Mother’s Day Celebration. Head out to the fields for a performance by the Rancho Buena Vista School’s Ballet Folkorico. And as a Mother’s Day special, you can make your own mixed bouquets are only $5.

At the iconic San Diego Zoo, springtime is the season when many of the animals give birth – a theme fitting for Mother’s Day. In addition to cute and cuddly baby animals, the zoo features North America’s largest population of the endangered Giant Panda.

For all those active moms, the San Diego Mother’s Day run could be the perfect wat to start off your special day. They offer a 5k, 10k, and a Lil’ Tykes 100m Dash – fun for the whole family! This scenic run follows the Mission Bay waterfront and proceeds help to support the San Diego Rescue Mission.
