Whether you are taking out your mom for the day or heading out with the kiddos, San Diego has a host of Mother's Day events planned for all the amazing mom's out there.

Carlsbad Flower Fields

Each spring, the flower fields open up to the public as the 50 acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers open up in full bloom. On the last day of their season, the flower fields are conducting a special Mother’s Day Celebration. Head out to the fields for a performance by the Rancho Buena Vista School’s Ballet Folkorico. And as a Mother’s Day special, you can make your own mixed bouquets are only $5.

San Diego Zoo

At the iconic San Diego Zoo, springtime is the season when many of the animals give birth – a theme fitting for Mother’s Day. In addition to cute and cuddly baby animals, the zoo features North America’s largest population of the endangered Giant Panda.

The Zoo also offers a military discount. A free one day pass is given to active duty military and the zoo partners with MWR Ticket Offices to offer discount packages for the whole family. For more information on ticketing, visit their website here.

Flagship Cruises

A leisurely cruise might just be what you need to seas the day. Flagship Cruises offers a military discount to many of their cruises, as well as other discounts. Set sail for views of the gorgeous San Diego skyline.

Mother’s Day Run

For all those active moms, the San Diego Mother’s Day run could be the perfect wat to start off your special day. They offer a 5k, 10k, and a Lil’ Tykes 100m Dash – fun for the whole family! This scenic run follows the Mission Bay waterfront and proceeds help to support the San Diego Rescue Mission.
