Whale Watching

February 9, 2016

Each year between December and April, over 20,000 gray whales migrate from Alaska to Baja California with San Diego right along their migration route. Gray whales, which cover this route of 10,000 miles twice a year, hold the record for the longest migration of any mammal.

With a whale watching tour, there is the opportunity to see this endangered species up close and personal. San Diego Whale Watch offers a military discount on Military Mondays – as well as other discounts throughout the week. The kids will have a blast spotting theses mammals – which are roughly the width of a basketball court. Each three hour tour is narrated by a certified marine biologist and promise views of not only whales, but dolphins, sea lions, and various sea birds. Kids receive a complimentary activity pad and crayons for the tour.
