Rock Out Near Naval Complex San Diego!
February 10, 2014
You probably heard it before birth and nearly every day since.
Sixty years after the dawn of rock 'n' roll, the guitar is an extension of us, an endlessly pliable and surprising instrument that's as natural and necessary as birdsong.
GUITAR, on show at San Diego's Reuben H. Fleet Science Center until April 6, tells the story of how six strings changed the world. From materials to electromagnetic fields, you'll learn how guitars make their magic. And if you're not a rock fan, don't worry; the exhibit demonstrates how guitars are a keystone of every musical genre.
