Get Geocaching Around San Diego!
May 24, 2013
Imagine heading down Murray Ridge Road toward Sandrock searching for local GPS coordinates to see what fellow “hunters” have left behind for you to find. Sound intriguing? That’s because it is. You can embark on a modern day treasure hunt throughout San Diego!
This modern day, GPS-enabled, game called geocaching is a one played all over the world where participants log onto the official website and choose a geocache they want to find. They’re then given the GPS coordinates of the “mini-treasure” (also called a geocache) that has been hidden by other “hunters.”
With tons of geocaches hidden all over San Diego, geocaching can be done at anytime and is great for thrill seekers who love the outdoors. So grab your GPS (or smartphone), sunglasses, and water bottle, and set out to find some treasure.
