Make A Day Trip to Anza-Borrego

Desert Dandelion

Get out of the city and head northwest toward Borrego Springs for an amazing, scenic day trip to the desert. Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is open every day from dawn to dusk through May 1st, so take the opportunity to experience the beauty of the area this weekend.

Depending on rainfall in winter, the natural beauty of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is enhanced by the almost magical appearance of desert wildflowers during the spring. You can explore the desert on your own, or join one of their interpretive hikes led by a volunteer naturalist.

After taking in all of the wonderment, feel free to head over to California Overland for a rugged Jeep tour through the desert. They serve a bag lunch on both their 4 and 8-hour excursions, so don’t worry about food–they have it covered!

Both destinations are located on Palm Canyon Drive, separated by just 3 miles (200 & 1233). We hope you can make it out for a deserted weekend!
