Ever wanted to learn to fly fish? Had a hankering to put on some waders and hop in the lake? Well, it’s a good thing you live near an affiliate of the Federation of Fly Fishers! That’s right, the San Diego Fly Fishers Club is ready, willing and able to teach you the basics and more.

They offer free fly fishing lessons on Sunday mornings from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Lake Murray, located in La Mesa. Don’t worry if you don’t have your own gear, just arrive early for a free equipment loan. Don’t be hesitant to head out; their website reads, “SDFF is very proud that it is one of the few clubs in the country that offers this service free to the general public.”

If you happen to tire of trout, (which is the normal fly fishing variety of fish) that’s not all they catch. Many of the members are specialists on other warm water species like bass, crappie, bluegill. And let’s not forget about salt water fly fishing, because they do that too!

If you decide to venture out on a Sunday, be sure to let us know how it was on our Facebook page.
