The 26th Annual San Diego County Veterans Day Parade

November 6, 2012

A day known by many names, like Armistice and Remembrance, Veterans Day has been celebrated in this country for decades to commemorate American armed service veterans. And the year 2012 is no different than any other, as the Annual San Diego County Veterans Day Parade is scheduled to take place on Monday, November 12th.

The parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the same parade route as years past (Downtown San Diego on Pacific Highway, South from Grape Street to West Harbor Drive).

Major General Charles (Chuck) Elwood Yeager will Grand Marshal the parade, while simultaneously commemorating the 65th Anniversary of the “Breaking the Sound Barrier.” Chuck was the first man to break the sound barrier back in 1947 over the Mojave Desert while manning the experimental Bell X-1 jet. So, be sure to join Maj. Gen. Yeager as we celebrate our veterans across the great nation of the United States of America.
